If you live in Canada and haven’t been living under a rock, you’ll know this year is Canada’s 150th Birthday. There are a bunch of really cool things happening in Canada this year to help Canadian’s celebrate. Click here if you’re interested in seeing what the country is doing to celebrate. Below’s a list of a few things I’m hoping to participate in to help celebrate this wonderful country.
Parks Canada
I saw an ad on t.v. back in December that the Government of Canada was giving away free admission to Parks Canada this year. So I signed up and got my pass. My fiancé and I plan to visit a bunch of places around Ontario this year and have “mini-trips”. We’re hoping we can save some money by pitching a tent overnight instead of staying in a hotel. I also plan to document the trips and post them here for you to follow along. If you’d like to get a free pass, you can get it here.
150 Play List
In the 90s, do you remember those Body Break commercials with Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod? Those were funded in part by a company called ParticipACTION. ParticipACTION aims to get more Canadian’s moving in their daily lives. They’re participating in celebrating Canada’s 150th by launching a nation-wide campaign called “150 Play List”. The 150 Play List was created by over 465,000 votes from people across Canada and include 150 physical activities to help get Canadian’s moving again. If you participate, you have a chance at winning some pretty cool prizes. I’ve signed up and plan to participate in some of the activities in my local community.
These are some of the things I plan on doing to help celebrate Canada’s 150th. What do you plan on doing to celebrate?
